Decrypting a report

Decryption happens in your browser with your private key.

Reports are encrypted: to read them you must provide your private key. Decryption happens entirely in the browser.

  1. Open the report from the list.
  2. Paste your encrypted private key (the block you received at activation) and enter your 24-word recovery phrase.
  3. The browser decrypts the compartment you are entitled to (content, identity or metadata) and shows the plaintext.

After the first unlock you can choose “Remember on this device with a passkey”: the key stays encrypted in the browser and next time the authenticator check (fingerprint, face or device PIN) replaces the 24 words. This needs a recent browser with passkeys (Chrome, Edge, Safari 18+, Android, Windows Hello); otherwise manual entry remains available.

As a precaution the page locks itself after 15 minutes of inactivity or when the tab is hidden; you can also lock it at once with “Lock”.

The server never sees your private key, your passkey or the decrypted text.
